I am very excited when my form teacher had chosen me to go for the 8-day twinning programme to Suzhou and Shanghai. I am very happy as I had made new friends with the people who had gone to China. After reaching to China, I had learnt new things in there. During the trip, I missed 1 week of lessons and I missed my friends who are in Singapore. For the first 5 days, we went to one of the school called Hutai Foreign School. The size of that school is about 3 times bigger than our school. I made new friends there and I had their email address. But 5 days went very quickly because we had to leave Suzhou to Shanghai. When we were in school during the last day, we sang a song called "Home". After that, we exchanged gifts with our friends at China. Most importantly, I have learnt lots of new things in the school.
On day 6, we visited the world third tallest tower, the Oriental Pearl TV Tower. It is about 468m tall and this tower faces a row of buildings of various architectural styles in the Bund across the river. On day 7, we went to Shanghai World Expo. The place was so big that I can get lost. I had bought lots of key chains for my family members and for myself. On day 8, which is our last day in China, we went to Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall. The Exhibition is a 6 story buildings. I want to thank the teachers who have taken care of me during the days to China. I also want to thank the tour guide too. She had told us lots of things regarding the history of the places that we had visited.
I was elated when I was chosen to go for the 8-day Suzhou and Shanghai twinning programme. I have made many friends with those who were also chosen for the trip. During the 5 weekdays there, we visited a local primary school called Hutai Foreign School. The children there did not wear their school uniform but one thing in common was that they wore a red scarf around their necks. The 5 days flew past quickly and soon it was time to leave for Shanghai. We exchanged gifts with our Suzhou friends after singing a farewell song. I have learnt many new things when I was at that school.
On the way to Shanghai, we visited the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, which is the world's third tallest tower and is about 468m tall. It has a very nice view of Shanghai. The next day we went to Shanghai World Expo. The place was so huge. I bought many keychains as souvenirs for my family. On the last day in China, we went to Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall. It is a 6-storey building. The centrepiece is a huge scale model of the city of Shanghai. The model is very beautiful.
I'd like to thank those teachers who made this trip an unforgettable experience for me and I hope to go there again.

I was very happy when i was chosen to go for the 8-day immersion programme to China as i can finally go to another country without my family. When we reached the airport in Shanghai, it was very big! We then took a bus to Suzhou, the duration was about 1h and 30min.We went sightseeing and the places were really beautiful! I was really elated and took alot of photos for my family to see. On the next 5 days, we went to school and had to wake up at 5.45am!It was really very tiring! We went sightseeing every day after school and saw many beautiful sights that we will not be able to see in Singapore. We always get back to the hotel at 8 pm plus. On the last day we are going to the school, my buddy and i exchange gifts and we were very sad as we cannot see each other again. After that, we went to Shanghai and because of the weather, we are not able to go to the Oriental Pearl TV Tower. On Saturday was very glad that i had a chance to go to the Shanghai Expo. The place was really very big and we had KFC there, but the chicken taste horrible...On the last day,i was happy because I can go back to Singapore then but I was sad because I am going to leave China. We went to Oriental Pearl TV Tower. The sightseeing floor was at 259 meters, we can also see the whole Shanghai there! The Oriental Pearl TV Tower was the world's 3rd tallest building. Then, we went to the airport in Shanghai and the plane back to Singapore. I really enjoyed myself there and thank all the teachers who take care of us. Done by: Qiu Jia of 5A
I was delighted when I knew that I will be going on a 8 days immersion programme to China with my schoolmates. That was the first time I when overseas without my parents and I got to learn how to be independent.
I felt that this trip was very meaningful as we get to know the culture of China and learnt a lot more about China. I remembered when I was in China, I missed Singapore food and home-cooked food but there were none. I think the only food I saw in both China and Singapore were McDonald and KFC. We also been to Shanghai World Expo and to me, it was boring as it talks about history and culture of different countries but it was a good exprerince.
We also went to a school in China and when I step into he classroom, I thought that I was so lucky to have such nice classrooms in my school. Their classrooms were old and the tables were dirty and rusty. When I saw my buddy and her friends playing together, it reminds me of my friends and I felt sad as I missed them. I also felt that the hotel we stay in Shanghai was very spooky because there were a lot of mirrors and the room was very big. The bathroom was even spookier as everything was white in colour. After this to China, Ithink that Singapore and m school are the best!
There are a few words that can explicitly express the trip to Suzhou & Shanghai,"breathtaking, memorable and magnificient!"
Suzhou is really renowned as "Venice of the East" and "Heaven on Earth"! It's unique elegant gardens, its network of rivers and canals, and its silk production are really an eye opening for me. As for Shanghai, the cosmopolitan city was truly amazing.
The most memorable place that we had visited was the "Expo". I learnt about the history & culture of other countries.
Througout the trip, I had learnt to be more independent and most importantly how to care of others which I felt it would be helpful for me in the future.
Lastly, I felt fortunate and blessed to live in Singapore and to study in Unity Primary School as it is clean and systematic.
I am very glad to be chosen to go to China. It is a very rare experience for me.China is a place for me to shop freely without my family members.China's gardens are very interesting. They are created by famouse people. It's rivers are very interesting as there are people living by the river side. The silk production is a very rare experience. Seeing the production of the silk is very interesting. The world expo is very big and it contains the world's different culture and history.I fell very fortunate to live in singapore.
I am very excited when my form teacher had chosen me to go for the 8-day twinning programme to Suzhou and Shanghai. This is my first time going overseas myself.
I've learnt lots of China's culture. We went to Hutai Foreign School in Suzhou.

After that, We went to Shanghai. We sat almost 2 hours to reach there. We went to eat lunch when we reach Shanghai. I like the foods there especially the vegetables. I hate vegetables when i am in Singapore.
I felt proud to be a Singaporeans.During the school holidays, I miss Suzhou and Shanghai. I wish I can go there again next time.
I feel very privileged to be given the chance to visit China for a twinning programme.
I remember how excited I was on the plane on our way to China! Our first place of visit is the Tongli Ancient Water tower in Suzhou. It was very interesting!
We spent 5 days at Hutai Foreign School. I was amazed by the size of the school- it is much larger than Unity Primary! During our interaction with the pupils there, I made a lot of new friends. I even got their email addresses so that I can continue to keep in touch with them back in Singapore!
We also visited places such as Ci Xiu research institute, cruise grand canal and my favourite: Silk Factory. I was simply awed by the silk produced by the factory, which were used to make things like scarf. We also went to the Suzhou Museum and Hanshan Temple to learn more about the Chinese culture. I loved the times when we could have free time at the Shiquan Street! There are many things for me to buy!
On our way to Shanghai, we made a visit to the Oriental Pearl TV tower. The tower is the third tallest building in the world, with a height of 468m! At Shanghai, we were honored to be able to visit the Shanghai World Expo. This is definitely a very rare experience and I bought many small gifts for my family and relatives. The expo was really nice! In addition, we visited the Urban Planning exhibition, a 6 storey building.
